Underground Resistance
Projekt, Label. Based in Detroit sind UR wohl einige der politischsten Aktivisten im gesamten, weltweiten Techno-Lager. Angetrieben von der Perspektivlosigkeit in der vom Zerfall der Automobilindustrie gebeutelten Stadt, kämpft Mastermind "Mad" Mike Banks gegen die herrschenden Strukturen. "Programming" ist das Prinzip der modernen Wirtschaftsgesellschaft, gegen das Banks energisch kämpft. Programming bedeutet, daß das System - und damit ist der gesamte Komplex von Staat, Öffentlichkeit und Wirtschaft gemeint - die Bürger zu seinem Vorteil programmiert. Durch Schulbildung, Erziehung, Werbung und auch Gesetze wird das Volk in eine funktionierende Maschine umgewandelt. Der Mensch wird von seinen Einflüssen, die auf ihn einwirken, indoktriniert, so daß er den Richtlinien der Gesellschaft Genüge tut, und sie so am Leben erhält. Eine durchaus sinnvolle Struktur, die aber leider den grundsätzlichen Mangel hat, daß sie sein Objekt der freien Entscheidungsmöglichkeit beraubt. Gerade in Amerika tritt dies in From des immer noch vorhandenen Rassismus vor allem gegenüber der farbigen Bevölkerung offen zutage. Vielerorts ist die Ablehnung andersartigen (Rassen) in jahrhundertlangen Traditionen begründet. Wie sollen Kinder, die von ihren Eltern gesagt bekommen, daß Schwarze minderwertig sind, weil schon deren Eltern es gesagt haben, jemals offen anderen Menschen gegenübertreten? Und sicherlich ist es (nicht nur) in den USA mehr als das ebenfalls programmierte Ausbeutungsbewußtsein, das seit Zeiten der Slaverei tief in der Seele der Schwarzen verwurzelt ist, das immer wieder Konflikte zwischen schwarz und weiß hinaufbeschwört, nur aus Flucht vor dem Unbekannten heraus. Gleiches lässt sich im islamischen Totalitarismus oder generell bei Ausländerfeindlichkeit feststellen: Menschen sind von ihrer Umwelt programmiert worden, Andersdenkende oder anders Aussehende abzulehnen. Gegen diese Form der Programmierung oder Indoktrination kämpft UR. Nicht mit Worten, sondern mit Musik. Denn Musik ist eine universelle Kommunikation, die jeder versteht, ohne die gleiche Sprache sprechen zu müssen und ohne durch den äußeren Eindruck über die Persönlichkeit eines Menschen getäuscht zu werden. Um sich jedoch nicht ganz auf die Aussagekraft der Musik zu verlassen, sind viele der inzwischen weit über vierzig UR-Platten oft mit Gedichten und Botschaften illustriert, die die Realität des Lebens verdeutlichen sollen. Oft sind die Ansichten von "Mad" Mike Banks und Underground Resistance falsch interpretiert worden. Er hat sogar Verbrüderungsschreiben von der IRA und libyschen Extremisten bekommen, die offensichtliche Geistesverwandtschaft vermuteten. Es gehe jedoch nicht um Militarismus oder gar Terrorismus, auch wenn das Auftreten und die Äußerungen von UR das gelegentlich nahelegen mögen. Es geht um den Kampf gegen das vorurteilsgeprägte Bewußtsein. Und der bedarf nicht unbedingt lachender Gesichter und starker Öffentlichkeitspräsenz. "Life is a struggle", sagt Mike und, "wer sichtbar wird, macht sich angreifbar." Also arbeitet man lieber an der Basis in Detroit. [...] UR gelten als eine Art heilige Instanz nicht nur in Detroit, sondern im ernstzunehmenden Technolager in der ganzen Welt.

Das das "Programming" keine bloße Verschwörungstheorie, sondern Fakt ist, dürftet ihr spätestens nach dem lesen dieses Internetprojekts erkennen...
